Julia Elliot is the only ceramicist to apply the copper fuming raku technique to animal sculptures.

Copper fuming raku is a low fire technique that can produce iridescent muli-coloured pottery.

The technique involves applying a copper oxide wash which is then raku fired to produce the beautifully rich colours.
